Performance Grades
PG70 – PG-70-40
Petra Oil’s PG 70-40 represents the pinnacle of cold-weather asphalt binder technology—engineered for regions facing the harshest winter climates on earth. Designed according to Superpave performance grading standards, PG 70-40 combines exceptional high-temperature stability (up to 70°C) with unparalleled flexibility at extremely low temperatures (down to -40°C), making it the ultimate solution for roadways exposed to severe freeze-thaw conditions and sustained heavy traffic loads.
This binder is purpose-built for infrastructure where climate extremes demand the most advanced material performance. Whether in polar regions, high alpine passes, or northern logistics corridors, PG 70-40 provides unmatched resistance to thermal cracking, rutting, and fatigue, ensuring long-term pavement performance under relentless environmental stress.
Fully compliant with and exceeding the requirements of AASHTO M320, PG 70-40 is manufactured under strict quality controls to deliver consistent, dependable results across the most challenging construction environments.
Key Specifications of PG 70-40:
• Performance Grade: PG 70-40
• High-Temperature Grade: 70°C
• Low-Temperature Grade: -40°C
• Standard Compliance: AASHTO M320
• Type: Superpave Performance Grade Asphalt Binder
Main Applications of PG 70-40:
• Extreme Cold Region Highways: Ideal for infrastructure in polar, subpolar, and continental climates with prolonged deep freeze conditions.
• Arctic Mining and Logistics Roads: Built for industrial use in the harshest environments with repeated heavy loading.
• Critical Winter Transport Networks: Perfect for ensuring uninterrupted mobility in remote, high-risk, or strategic areas.
Key Benefits of PG 70-40:
• Ultra-Low Temperature Performance: Prevents thermal cracking in the coldest environments on earth.
• Exceptional Rutting Resistance: Holds pavement shape and strength during high summer temperatures and heavy traffic.
• Engineered for Resilience: Maintains structural integrity despite extreme freeze-thaw cycles.
