Bitumen-C170
Bitumen C170 is commonly utilized for road maintenance, particularly for sprayed sealing applications. Australian Standard bitumen C170, also known as Class 170 bitumen, has a high degree of penetration and strong adhesiveness, allowing it to bond firmly with the road surface. Moreover, it helps the pavement regain flexibility and prevents cracking, rutting, and fatigue.
In addition to road maintenance, Bitumen C170 is also used for paving surfaces in areas where traffic loads are expected to be minimal. It’s perfect for asphalt mixing, asphalt compaction, and spraying. It’s ideal for moderate traffic volumes and provides reliable performance at varying temperatures without becoming too brittle or too soft.
Australian Standard C240
Bitumen C240 is generally used in paving surfaces and sealing cracks because of its superior resistance to adverse weather conditions and excellent adhesive properties. Bitumen C240 has higher viscosity compared to Bitumen C170 which enables it to be used in asphalt pavements in warmer climates where traffic volume is moderate.
Australian Standard C320
Viscosity Graded Bitumen C320 is high quality asphalt, derived from crude petroleum refining. It is a paving grade bitumen manufactured to AS 2008 Table 2.2 and is suitable for standard sealing and lightly trafficked asphalt application.
