Petra Oil’s AH-90 is a high-penetration grade bitumen specifically designed for flexible pavement construction in colder climates and regions with moderate traffic loads. With a penetration value of approximately 90 dmm at 25°C, AH-90 offers greater flexibility and improved low-temperature performance compared to lower penetration grades. This makes it particularly suitable for use in areas prone to thermal contraction and expansion, where resistance to cracking is essential.
AH-90 bitumen exhibits excellent workability during mixing and compaction, enabling a strong bond with aggregates while reducing the risk of thermal or fatigue cracking over time. It conforms to international quality standards such as ASTM D946 and AASHTO M20, ensuring consistency in performance and application.
This grade is frequently chosen for surface and base courses in road construction, especially in cooler regions, secondary roads, and lightly trafficked areas, as well as for maintenance and overlay works.
