Polymer Modified Bitumen

Plastomeric Thermoplastic Based – Grade P-70

Grade P-70 from Petra Oil is a robust Plastomeric Thermoplastic Modified Bitumen, designed to provide a balance of flexibility and strength for medium to high traffic conditions. With a softening point of 70°C, P-70 is optimized for infrastructure exposed to warm climates and heavy vehicular loads. It ensures durable pavement construction, excellent rutting resistance, and enhanced fatigue performance — making it a reliable binder for long-lasting surfaces in both urban and rural roadways.

P-70 is particularly effective for roadways that need better performance than conventional bitumen can offer, but don’t require the ultra-high stiffness of P-120. Its plastomeric additives provide dimensional stability, reduced cracking potential, and better handling of temperature fluctuations, especially in transitional climate zones.

Key Specifications:

  • Softening Point: 70°C
  • Binder Type: Plastomeric Thermoplastic Based Modified Bitumen
  • Standard Compliance: IS 15462:2019
  • Ideal Use: Medium-to-Heavy Traffic Roads, Urban Streets

Main Applications of P-70:

  • State Highways & Arterial Roads: Durable binder solution for frequent traffic with seasonal weather changes.
  • Urban Main Roads: Helps prevent early-stage cracking and rutting in busy city infrastructure.
  • Commercial Complex Roads: Suitable for parking areas and access roads that bear heavy but not continuous loads.

Benefits of P-70:

  • Balanced performance in moderate to high-temperature environments
  • Enhanced load-bearing properties compared to standard bitumen
  • Cost-effective for municipal and regional road projects
  • Improved lifespan and reduced maintenance frequency
