Polymer Modified Bitumen
Elastomeric Thermoplastic-Based – Grade E120
Petra Oil’s Grade E-120 is a high-performance Elastomeric Thermoplastic Based Modified Bitumen, expertly engineered for exceptional elasticity, fatigue resistance, and high-temperature performance. With a softening point of 120°C, this grade offers outstanding resilience against cracking, thermal fatigue, and rutting in high-stress and high-temperature environments.
E-120 is ideal for roadways, bridges, and transportation corridors subjected to frequent expansion and contraction due to temperature shifts, as well as heavy and repeated traffic loads. The elastomeric polymers used in its formulation give it rubber-like properties that absorb stress and strain, making it particularly suitable for pavements that must endure frequent start-stop traffic or structural movement.
Key Specifications:
- Type: Elastomeric Thermoplastic Based Modified Bitumen
- Softening Point: 120°C
- Standard Compliance: IS 15462:2019
- Properties: High elasticity, crack resistance, thermal resilience
Main Applications of Grade E-120:
- Bridge Decks & Flyovers: Flexible enough to accommodate structural movement while resisting cracking and deformation.
- Urban Expressways: Performs exceptionally in congested traffic zones with high vehicular stress.
- Extreme Climate Regions: Maintains integrity under wide temperature fluctuations, from scorching heat to cold nights.
Benefits of Grade E-120:
- Excellent elasticity and crack-bridging capability
- Superior resistance to thermal and mechanical fatigue
- Maintains surface integrity under continuous stress
- Ideal for complex infrastructure subject to dynamic loads
- Enhances pavement durability in high-temperature areas
