Performance Grades
Bitumen PG 70-16
Petra Oil’s PG 70-16 is a high-performance asphalt binder specifically formulated for regions that experience both high summer temperatures and moderately cold winters. Designed in accordance with Superpave performance grading standards, PG 70-16 ensures long-term durability by delivering high rutting resistance at elevated pavement temperatures (up to 70°C) and improved flexibility at low temperatures down to -16°C.
This binder is engineered for critical pavement projects where both traffic-induced stress and seasonal temperature variations are significant factors. With superior stability under thermal load and enhanced resistance to low-temperature cracking, PG 70-16 is an excellent choice for expressways, major arterial roads, and urban networks in transitional climate zones.
Produced to meet and exceed AASHTO M320 standards, PG 70-16 ensures high binder consistency and reliability across batches. It performs exceptionally well under the pressure of constant vehicular load, maintaining pavement integrity with minimal surface distress over time.
Key Specifications of PG 70-16:
- Performance Grade: PG 70-16
- High-Temperature Grade: 70°C
- Low-Temperature Grade: -16°C
- Standard Compliance: AASHTO M320
- Type: Superpave Performance Grade Asphalt Binder
Main Applications of PG 70-16:
- Expressways and Highways: Ideal for roads with heavy, sustained traffic in regions with hot summers and moderate winters.
- Urban Roads & Intersections: Withstands the start-stop nature of traffic, resisting rutting and surface deformation.
- Industrial and Commercial Access Roads: Handles repeated loading while maintaining flexibility during seasonal shifts.
Key Benefits of PG 70-16:
- Improved Thermal Flexibility: Combines high-temperature stiffness with moderate cold resistance, reducing risks of thermal cracking.
- High Resistance to Rutting and Shoving: Maintains surface shape and quality under continuous loading and hot climates.
- Durable and Low-Maintenance: Minimizes the need for frequent resurfacing and repairs.
- Consistent Performance: Manufactured to exact specifications, ensuring high reliability in demanding environments.
